Solomon Islands Tennis Federation (SITA) has confirmed their two young athletes who were awarded Tennis Scholarships to attend New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) in the United States of America.

Georjemah Row and Vinda Teally will receive USD$22,858.00 per year for each other funded by the institute.

“It is with utmost pleasure to congratulate both recipients for these achievement,” a statement from SITA stated.

According to SITA the girls will be the 6th and 7th young athletes from Solomon Islands the institute training.

“Even though it’s a military school they have conducted trainings basically tennis for the scholars.

Apart from NMMI other SITA Athletes attended other U.S. Universities by the names of Brigham Young University in Hawaii, Cameron University in Oklahoma, Henderson State University in Arkansas, and Clayton State University in Atlanta, Georgia.

“These athletes receive full ride scholarships and SITA is the only federation in the Solomons providing such opportunity.

The youngsters will undergo a 2-year training under the scholarship; the duo will begin their adventure next year January 2018.
