SIBF In Preparation To Host Regional Champ


Solomon Islands Body Building Federation (SIBF) is in preparation stage to host for the first time the Oceania Body Building competition in the country.
Speaking to RAW SPORTS, SIBF President, Pius Maemae stated that currently they are yet seeking sponsors for the hosting of the regional event.
“At the moment we continue in preparations, as the host we still follow up on funding and sponsors for the these championship,” Maemae said.
He added that so far the National Government as the major sponsor has shown their support along with SOL RICE Company towards the event.
“Business houses also supported us throughout our fundraisings.
Mr. Maemae says that so far two fundraisings has been concluded recently, and they are looking forward for a major fundraiser schedule for 1st September.
There are total of 12 regional countries that will take part in the championship including Solomon Islands.
“It is history for SIBF and our body builders in the country to play host of these event for the first time,” Maemae added.
“These achievements are through our results participating in competitions and our commitments in the sport.
He also stated that the championship would be a checkpoint in line with the Government in preparing towards the 2023 Pacific Games.
Mr. Maemae also revealed that a local championship would be staged at September.
“By this championship we’ll select our final squad to represent the country in the regional championship.
He confirmed that as the host country it is privileged for two body builders in each category in the championship.
The Oceania body building championship will take place from 26th to 29th October and will be hosting a total 12 regional countries.
