Rennel & Bellona Under 19 made history in football for the Polynesia province, impressively finishing in top four of the 2018 Youth Solomon Cup U19 competition.

Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) Hekari United manageress, Mrs. Vonnie Kapi Natto pledges support, development of the sport in her home province.

Taking the role as the major sponsor for Renbell, Mrs. Kapi Natto expressed her desire to develop football in the rugby mad island.

“Now I’m involving in football in the province, and I’ll be making sure ahead of us we will no longer be tagged as underdogs but as one of the top competitors in football,” Mrs. Kapi Natto expressed.

“For us to finish fourth its history, we no longer being thrashed we proved it through out the competition. Not only playing football but discipline to be good citizens in the province and the country with many ways bringing up these young talents.

She added that this achievement is a great motivation for them.

She also highlighted some of her proposed plans in the sport for the province.

“I already informed the Rennell & Bellona football association that I’m going to prepare the coaching program proper management, rules and regulation technical support.

“Also friendly matches in preparation for upcoming competitions will be prioritised, giving more exposure and challenge.

Renbell produced the upset of the tournament with a 2-1 win over Honiara another win against Central Shield a narrow loss to Malaita and two hard fought draw against Western and Guadalcanal.
