Rarangia Wins Man of the Match

MALAITA Eagles captain, Andrew Rarangia has been presented with the ‘man of the match’ prize after the recent ‘do or die’ match against Real Kakamoras at Lawson Tama Stadium.
The young central back defender helped Eagles secured a 1 all draw against the Real Kakamoras to send them out of the Solomon Cup Tournament.
Speaking to Raw Sports Reporter Stephen Farobo after receiving his award, the skipper said since Makira is not an easy side, it is an important match we need to treat as a grand-final.
“We have given all our best in order to qualify for the semi-final playoffs. The boys are extremely proud and exited that we have made it through to the next stage of the competition,” he said.
In football, a Man of the Match award is given to the outstanding player. The one who makes the most impact in a particular match.
He said one thing that kept them from defeat in the Solomon Cup Tournament was unity and focus.
“We all believed in ourselves by putting our minds and hearts together; this is one thing that kept us together in all of our matches. We have played together with self-confidence, trust and self-believe,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rarangia said he is proud to be awarded the man of the match prize.
“I happy and proud to be the man of the match prize. I would like to thank the boys for displaying teamwork because without them I would not be able to win the prize.”
Rarangia has been selected by the Solomon Islands National Football Coach Felipe Vega Arango to join the current national training squad.
