Netball Squad Likely To Have A Friendly With PNG Club


A Possible friendly match will later be confirmed if a team from Papua New Guinea (PNG) should play against the Solomon Islands Netball squad in build up towards the Pacific Mini Games.
Vonnie Kapi Natto who brought her basketball club, KSS Southern Flames to play a series of friendly’s here, uttered the possibility if her netball team should come over.
“It’s a idea I always think of doing, I won’t be confirming it in the meantime but I see no problem if I could work on that to send my netball team over to help out the national side in preparation for the Pacific Mini games.
“I see the struggle of netters here who need competitive challenge and exposure.
She says that if the Solomon Island Netball Federation (SINFED) should come up with an agreement for both sides in assistance for the proposed idea.
“For the country’s netball team, I know it’s a great need, a friendly game would be a great help for them,” Mrs. Kapi Natto speaking to RAW SPORTS in a brief interview.
She continued that from now till coming week she’d be finalising if things worked out and will notify the netball governing body.
SINFED President, Noelyn Luahiti welcomed the proposal saying such is much needed towards the team’s preparation.

Mrs. Kapi Natto and her husband, John Kapi Natto were known for their support in sports development for elite athletes in the region.
