THE Solomon Islands Basketball Federation has recently held an election at the Multipurpose Hall Sports conference room to appoint new members of the Honiara Basketball League executive committee.
The election meeting on Sunday 1 March was spearheaded by the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF), President, Brian Pongotapu.
The key agenda of the election was the task to fill up positions and changes in the leadership structures of the Honiara Basketball League (HBL) executive committee ahead of the preparation of league actions towards Pacific Games 2023.
The new executive committee members elected to enhance the Federation’s goals are:
· Randy Auslin Kaipua
· Delmah Nori
· Jocelyn Basia
· Jessie Konofilia
· Timmy Magi
· Owen Teika
· Hemah Aquillah
The newly elected President, Randy Auslin Kaipua thanked the basketball community in Honiara for entrusting their support and trust to elect him as the President of the Honiara Basketball League (HBL) executive committee.
“I know it is very hard because there will be a lot of criticism and challenges, but I trust the new committee that we will work together,” the new president said.
Kaipua expressed that being a President for the committee is not a one-man work, but it belongs to all basketball teams in Honiara and the provinces to work together.
“On behalf of the SIBF, I promise that I will try my best with my executive to work closely with HBL, new and old executive members.
“I know that there are many challenges the HBL has gone through the past years, and what I want for this
