Solomon Islands Hockey Federation (SIHF) has named its Under 18 training squad in preparation for the upcoming 2018 Oceania Olympic Youth Qualifier from 25th to 29th April in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

SIHF President, Nihal Seneviratne following his return from recent visit to the International Hockey Federation Head quarters in Lausanne, Switzerland confirmed to RAW SPORTS.

“At the moment National under 18 squad training daily at King George Six High School Hockey Ground.

Oceania Hockey Federation (OHF) has accepted the nominations of 6 national federations including Solomon Islands to participate in the youth qualifier.

The competition format will be Hockey5s with a round robin followed by finals.

OHF has 5 qualifying spots-3 Men’s qualifying spots and 2 Women’s qualifying spot for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“Also SIHF will organised the High School Hockey League 2018 and the Honiara Hockey Club League 2018 due to kick off 1st week of April,” the President added.
