Solomon Islands Beach Volleyball Federation (SIBVF) has confirmed its athletes to participate in the Commonwealth Oceania Beach Volleyball Qualifiers before the start of the Pacific Mini Games also in Vanuatu.
Speaking to RAW SPORTS SIBVF President, Morris Maitaki revealed that a total of 11 beach volley ball athletes including officials have been picked for the qualifiers and also the mini games.
“A total of 11 travelling athletes and their officials have been confirmed for these two competitions.
“So far continuous trainings are ongoing, recently we change our usual training venue at the town ground grass court and since this week we shift to Mamanawata beach front,” Maitaki stated.
He added that luck of beach venues has been a challenge.
“We have no other places in Honiara to train, and these are the only venues available for our trainings.

The qualifiers will begin from 6th to 8th December and the winning nation of this event (1 team) per gender qualifies for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Mr. Maitaki also confirmed that apart from medals in the Pacific Mini games the Oceania ranking is also be made.
“It is very good for our participation in both competitions.
Recently SIBVF has named a final squad and its officials for these end year competitions.
For girls they are; Rose Gwali, Hannah Donga, Glance Eddie, Natalie Bennett and Susie Teno. Boys they are; Bexy Kefu, Hunter Junior, James Waneasi, Davis Karotu. Officials include, Susie Leong (Girls coach) and Thomas Tebaubau (Boys coach).
The Pacific Mini Games will commence on 4th to 15th December.
