The NZ Fiji FA IDC tournament concluded Savusavu team winning the title after coming back from a goal down.
Two former Solomon Islands internationals, Michael Fifi and Henry Fa’arodo Jnr were simply mesmerising with their input in the grand finale.
Former Solomon Islands international captain, Henry Fa’arodo Jnr was described as the genius behind the team.
Fa’arodo pulled the strings and managed the game well as the team gradually came from behind to clinch the victory over BA FC in the grand finale.
One of Solomon Islands former national player, Michael Fifi also did not shy away from the main event. Fifi’s wonder strike from 30 yards out sealed the victory for Savusavu.
The Kwaio lad inspired the win with his vibrant runs which left defenders falling.
Fifi and Fa’arodo were exceptional and whilst also winning the main trophy, Fifi collected the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament award as well.
Indeed, the two former internationals may have both left the international football scene but their presence in NZ and Fiji football still lingers with such memorable performance.
